Greetings Colleagues

I trust you're well. AWESOME article on Emma Perry, the John B. Cade Library and her vision for her library.  Do you share her vision? How you do envision your library's future?

Respectfully,

Sandra

Good Morning Everyone

It not often that a librarian (and their library) gets to be a Higher Education Headliner!  Dean Perry has ably accomplished that.  Congratulations!

In reading the article I was struck by the concept of the "Ask" desk.  In this age of technology I know that many libraries have virtual "ask a librarian" software, but what a great idea to put the idea up front in the physical library as well.

It sounds as though the renovation of the first floor is quite striking and has made a marked difference.  Looking at demographics is important for all of us.  At a recent symposium that I attended I head an interesting statement on that and paraphrased it is this:  "In terms of there not being a majority anymore if you just look at people under age 18 that already exists".  It is definitely something to think about because entering undergraduates next year may well represent that reality for all of us.

Other reflections?

And Happy Library National Library Week Everyone!
