Have any of the TWL members any information on Stanley boats--Megal Industries of Parry Sound, Georgean Bay, Ontario Canada. A friend who know I was looking for a 30 to 32 foot trawler type brought a picture of a raw alumium boat built by Stanley that they had cruised with for a week recently. A web search leads to a defunct web site--and an invalid E mail address. I will try the phone # next Monday, but the on line phone book does not list this company. I was told that they built a complete 32 foot raw alumium boat, with 36 hp Yanmar engine for around $40,000. There is a Stanley Boat builders (of Lobster type boats) at Mount Desert Island Me, but this does not appear to be the same outfit. Any information would be appreciated. Bob Austin

It so happens that two slips away a Stanley boat took up summer residence. Will see what I can find out and pass it on. It is all aluminium and the owner polishes it once or twice a season to look like stainless steel. Could use it as a shaving mirror - but alas I wear a full beard <grin>.
