BEST WISHES FOR A SAFE AND SUCCESSFUL EVENT...

... to all Gators who will be getting it done in New Jersey and elsewhere!

Last weekend was FANTASTIC!  We had outstanding performances by our lady
Gators at the Women's Philadelphia Triathlon, 5K, and kids splash and dash
and this included us welcoming FOUR FIRST TIME TRIATHLETES, Sarah Barkley,
Jennifer Gehret, Christa Kachline, and Rachel Truckley, who were all
AMAZING!  We also had success at IRONMAN Musselman 70.3 going 6 for 6 in
finishes and Shawn O'Malley qualifying for the IRONMAN 70.3 World
Championships!

How do we follow up on that?  This weekend is New Jersey State Triathlon
weekend, an event put on by club sponsor CGI Racing (who also direct the
Love Run).  The event takes place on Saturday and Sunday and we have four
athletes participating; see details below!

A couple of previews for next week before we cover the rest of this
weekend...

• Tuesday morning run workout: Based on your feedback to run coach Karen
Dunn's survey, we're trying something new with occasional weekday morning
run workouts starting next Tuesday 7/19 at 8am at the Pope John Paul II
high school track.  See "Event" to register and for more information...
https://www.facebook.com/events/804351010947681

• Wednesday evening swim/run workout: We're going to offer another swim run
option for our Wednesday 7/20 evening outdoor swim.  It will start with a
run around the Spring Valley YMCA's 1k (0.6 miles) outdoor track and then
continue with a 200-300m swim and then a swim/run rotation for the duration
of our one hour workout.  How many can you do?  Watch for an event post
coming this weekend!

Weekend Workouts: We have two options for your consideration...

• Saturday 7/16, 8:15am: Blue Marsh OWS and/or Cujo Loop (with Crosby
Extension) Bike Ride.  We'll start with a 1:15 swim entering the water no
later than 8:30am and then continue with a 20 mile challenging bike ride
with LOTS of hills starting at 10am (and maybe a little extra for anyone
looking for a 2 hour ride).  See "Event" to register and for additional
details... https://www.facebook.com/events/1234856580590212

• Sunday 7/17, 11:15am-12:15pm, Spring Valley YMCA indoor lap pool:
Uncoached group swim workout

• Do you want to lead a group bike ride or run? Many of us are training for
events of all distances. We highly encourage you to share on our Facebook
group any rides or runs (of any length) that you are doing where you'd like
some company!

Weekend Events: Jersey boys, and girls...

Saturday, July 16:

• CLUB EVENT / SPONSOR EVENT, Part 1: CGI Racing's New Jersey State
Triathlon.  To kick off the first day of this two day event, both Whitney
Mc Chadwick Lessar and Lindsay Inger will be participating in the sprint
distance triathlon!  Go Whitney and Lindsay!

Sunday, July 17:

• CLUB EVENT / SPONSOR EVENT, Part 2: CGI Racing's New Jersey State
Triathlon.  Continuing Saturday's fun, we have two athletes, Dre Barber and
Jens Sydor competing in the Olympic distance triathlon! Go Dre and Jens!

Have a great weekend training and racing, and don't forget to check out the
continuation of the exciting Tour de France! 🐊
