of a hinge that can be installed in a mast.

This subject has come up at least once recently on the Grand Banks
Owners forum sponsored by the Oxford Yacht Agency.  Several means of
hinging and supporting a mast were discussed.  To review the comments,
go the OYA website and open the icon called "The Board."  This will get
you a list of the various Grand Banks forums on the site.  The one you
want is "Repairs."  The forum archives has a good search engine into
which you can enter one or more key words.  You have to be a member to
post to the forum, but not to read posts or search the archives.
