At 3:00pm Rob Lonsberry and I refound the tanager at the same spot where it
was originally found. By the time I left a number of others were there on
the bird.
Directions:  Take 28 south to the bottom to Peter Street (Highway 2), turn
east at the lights, go east up the hill to the lights and turn south on
Hope Street, cross railroad and continue south until the road pulls east
along the lake; keep on it past Sculthorpe Marsh and on east to the Sewage
Plant where it swings south; go to the cement parking barrier. It was 25
yards south of the barrier above the road. It moved around slowly for an
hour but kept coming back to the tamaracks feeding at about 30 feet up.

The bird was very cooperatively present from at least 10:15 to 10:25 this morning. Directions below, but this morning it was perhaps 100 m south of the concrete barriers.John

Bird just seen again but at the east end of nearby pond beside fenced off pile of materials covered by black plastic tarp and tires.  It was seen moving east back towards original location described below.

However, disappeared again and birders are searching for it presently.

Cheers,
George
