May all citizens rule their government.
May you always give the emotion you desire to receive.
May you enjoy today forgetting your past, without trying to control
tomorrow.
May you buy American and save our future.

Subject: Report From Onboard Jenny

Wednesday, March 10, 2010 8:33:07 PM
Location: Harborage Marina, St. Petersburg
The boat position was not recorded.

No recent weather observation is available.

Jenny is a happy girl. She has all new batteries, full propane

tanks, full gasoline tanks for her dinghy, a full belly of food and water.
She knows the time to get going again is close at hand.  I have just a few
small items to get for the cupboards, and to rig her TPS uphaul lines again
and my jobs on this shore are complete.  Last minute items are to grill a
roaster, boil some eggs, shampoo Nicholas, and top the water tanks.  The
weather currently looks good to get us down the Ft. Jefferson in the Dry
Tortugas on Monday and Tuesday.  We might need to stay there for a couple of
days for the weather to clear in the channel between the tip of Cuba and the
Yucatan Peninsula.  As usual, I'll be checking the weather up to the last
moment, and then along the way.

Installing Jenny's six 8D batteries was a lot of work. I added to

that by changing the layout of the four in the engine room so that the
terminals were toward the centerline rather than buried toward the hull.
This way I can easily check and clean them.  The whole setup could use
reengineering, but that must wait for another day.

I plan to stay in Isla Mujeres until Melinda gets her Visa, or

August whichever comes first.  She is not happy with my going, especially
alone, but recognizes this is my life and only wishes to join in the
adventure.  She is a very special woman.  I bought a Fromm's guide to the
Yucatan today to get maps of the area and ruins.  I'm not sure I want to go
to them on this trip though.  I think I will save that for when Melinda can
be with me and share the experience.

Nicholas is getting anxious. He knows something is up. Yesterday

we went to the Vet to get his international health certificate and he got
his shots, pills, etc.  He will not be happy when we head out and will
probably be sea sick again since we have been in a slip for so long.  I'll
probably need a day or two to get my sea legs back too.

The water temperature here is 58 degrees at the surface and it

presented a challenge to my courage.  I needed to clean the propeller before
heading out.  I knew the hull was clean, but it is so very important to have
the propeller baby butt smooth that I was seriously considering diving on it
this afternoon.  I was saved by Tom next door. He had a diver show up today!
For $20 the diver included cleaning my prop with his work on Tom's boat.
Whew!  I really did not want to get into the 58 degree water.

It will be good to be underway again, exploring and challenging the

unknown.  It is so easy to sit back and enjoy a comfortable life in a slip.
But for me, that still represents giving in to a slowly enclosing grave.  I
won't miss being in the USA.  Our citizens don't seem to know how to stop
being manipulated by the new Aristocracy and start to accept personal
responsibility for the health of our country.  They are sucked into
demonizing people and government rather than seeing behind the curtain.
