Any info on Globalstar's current status ( they were marginal players in 2007 or so). Any users out there.  They seem to have the best deal $500 phone and $40 / mo unlimited in N America and Caribbean. Other Sat Phone providers are much more money for voice only.  
AT&T cell service (World Plan) I am told evven at $.25 /minute call time, adds up really fast (Not sure why unless there are hidden charges).  Advice please. Russ

In my experience they only sell an expensive promise of service, very iffy at best.
