6/10 - Milford, Milford Pt - 10 WHITE-RUMPED SANDPIPERS
Other numbers::
185 Semipalmated Sandpipers
1 Dunlin
1 Ruddy Turnstone
1 Short-billed Dowitcher
1 Bonaparte's Gull (first summer)
1 Red-breasted Merganser (drake)
As I have not seen any female-type RB Mergs of late, today's drake was
a surprise. I've never had an adult male into June.
Some great birds are being seen in surrounding states. Over the past
couple of days, MA has had Curlew Sandpiper, Franklin's Gull, and 6
Black-necked Stilts, and today Long Island had their first 1st-summer
Arctic Tern of the summer. A great time of year to be on the coast.
