Good afternoon:
Thanks to those that participated in today's federal funding call. Here are a few additional updates following today's call.
I am attaching a declaration from HUD submitted in the King County v. Turner litigation indicating that HUD is not accepting grant agreements that had been amended by the plaintiffs before the local governments accepted them. (See paragraph 9).
We noted that there are new COPS grant opportunities available through DOJ. While I haven't clicked through all of the grants, there appears to be a new requirement to indicate you comply with 8 USC 1373. Additionally, in reviewing the FY25 Community Policing Development Accreditation (and this may be the same for other grant opportunities) there is an indication that priority consideration will be given to state or local law enforcement applicants that cooperate with federal immigration officials. You can review the application questions for that particular grant here: https://cops.usdoj.gov/pdf/2025ProgramDocs/cpd_accreditation/Enhancing_raqs.pdf
I'll pass along any additional updates as they come in but wanted to get this information to you.
Thanks,
Amanda
