View all threadsHello again everyone, a very Happy Holidays to you all.
Your previously answered question has led to several more. I thank you again for your time.
The specifications of the CSpace 5.0 deployment and hardware are as follows:
Ubuntu 18.04 LTS Server virtual machine, upgraded from Ubuntu 16.04 LTS Server, the CSpace version is Release 5.0, UI version 1.0.0-alpha.15, I installed the application with the available deployment script from GitHub. The host is an HP ProLiant DL380 running VMware ESXi 6.5.1 hypervisor.
My questions are:
Hi Ed,
It looks like the LHMC profile hasn't been upgraded to 5.0 yet. For some
reason I thought it had, but I'm not seeing it. It must be in the queue.
Maybe Megan knows if there's a timeframe?
Others have also asked for more customization how-tos for 5.0, and I've
been meaning to write them. I think renaming and reordering fields are good
next topics. I'll try to do that in the next week or two.
Thanks,
Ray

I’ve tried the materials from the website and the deployment errors out
and becomes non-functional. I’d like to try out the LHMC tenant on the
hardware to see if it’s a “better fit” for the museum.
I’ve not found any that are CSpace 5.0 specific. I’d like to create a new
data entry object type with some field name reassignments and
reordering/regrouping. This is to ease the transition of the Collections
volunteers to CSpace 5.0.
The nice folks up in Canada released an online version of Nomenclature 4.0
for online reference. I’ve included the link below.

Thanks again for your time everyone, CSpace is a wonderful application and
I’m glad to be involved in some way. Keep up the great work!

Ed,
Ray is right that we haven't update the LHMC profile yet, but the good news is that it's very similar to the core profile - many of the updates that were LHMC specific (e.g. stronger support for deaccessioning) have been folded into core as useful for all. We'll likely release the official update in the spring.
Good question re: Nomenclature. We have mapped it to CollectionSpace and are happy to share the files and our import tool; the wrinkle is that you need to separately get permission from Rowman and Littlefield, the publisher. Please let me know if you'd like to pursue that and I can put you in touch with them.
They are planning to release the Nomenclature as LOD in 2020, at which time we can look at a more dynamic integration.
Thanks,
Megan

Hi Megan.
Thank you for the timeline update. I look forward to official release and updated documentation. CSpace 5.0 has a lot going for it, amazing application.
You'd mentioned Rowan and Littlefield. I'd like to pursue the offer of getting in contact and requesting permission to integrate Nomenclature 4.0 into the deployment of CSpace that I'm working on. The Curator made an informal request to me just a couple of days ago about it. Please do contact me via email [ edmundhaardt@halosecuritysystems.com ] and we can take it from there.
Much thanks to Megan, Ray and everyone else taking the time to answer my questions. I really appreciate it.
Have a happy and safe holiday season.

Hi Ed,
I've added how-to documentation for changing field labels and reordering
fields:
