Saw the new Furuno all in one radar (1831, 1931 or 1942), fishfinder,
gps/chartplotter (with diff optional) at the New York Show. A very bright
10.4 inch active display. Layering of the dgps/plotter signal and the
radar along with arp was a highlight. Up to two remotes can be hung.
Device is not yet approved for sale in the US. Seems like a nice solution
for folks who like Furuno radar, don't have alot of space and like the
chart plotter signal and radar image superimposable on one display.

Hi all:
Phillip's comment about the two remotes prompts me to point out that the
current models furuno 18 and 19 series can be fitted with a split cable
so you can have two radar locations using one crt head. I have modified
mine that way and it works great. You just have to buy one extra cable
for about $150 and split it. Your dealer can tell you how, or I can tell
you how I did it. It's much cheaper than buying a remote head, if moving
the crt from one location to the other would work for you.
