Great opportunity for those of us working on art and material culture! Leiden University invites applications for a University Lectureship in Chinese Art and Material Culture. The application deadline is August 31, 2016. Applicants must have specialist expertise on pre-20th century China, be able to teach on modern and contemporary topics at the undergraduate level, and be able to engage with the wider East Asian and Asian contexts and position the study of Chinese art and material culture in transnational and global configurations. Appointment will initially be for two years starting January 2017, with the possibility of extension and a permanent position thereafter.
