<I am owner of an Island Gypsy 44 ( 38,000 lbs ). I am looking for
recommandation in terms of anchor. Could anyone tell me what the best
could be for such a boat?>

Patrick --

You can get a variety of recommendations from trawler owners who have  had
experience with their particular style of boat, operating grounds and
experience. I suggest that you read my book "The Complete Book of Anchoring
and Mooring" to get the overall gist of the problem and then make up your
mind. You can select anchor patterns from it based on your cruising
grounds, anchor and rode sizes based on your specific boat (by calculation
or table) and a variety of hints on how best to anchor under different
situations. The one-anchor cures-all-myth is strictly marketing hype.
