To All - Attached are the Minutes from the Cruising Fleet Annual meeting last Saturday. Summary The Cruising Fleet held our annual business meeting February 24, 2018. We introduced 13 new members, reviewed the racing and cruising events of 2017, heard a financial report from Treasurer Mark English, and elected officers for 2018. Seven Action Items were identified during the annual meeting including: 1) Fleet plaques - complete and display Cruising Fleet award plaques (Jim Luce) 2) Cruising Fleet meeting - select date & organize Cruising Fleet meeting before start of season. This meeting is for those who wish to cruise this year and are looking for ideas and information (Marco Moretti). 3) Saturday Adult Sailing - match up those wishing to improve sailing skills with those wishing to help (Lee Luce) 4) Organize Seamanship Rally, select date (Morris Azar) 5) Race Patrol - assign and monitor Cruising Fleet Race Patrol volunteers (John Michael) 6) Racing beyond the Hudson - encourage NBC participation in races on Great South Bay and Long Island Sound (all Members) 7) Cruising Fleet web site -get site up and running for dues-paying Fleet members (Lee Luce). Elections The following officers were nominated and elected unanimously to the Cruising Fleet Executive Board for 2018: Fleet Captain, Cruising - Morris Azar Fleet Captain, Racing - John Michael Secretary - Lee Luce Treasurer - Mark English The Cruising Fleet schedule of events for 2018 is attached. Fleet dues (still $30) can be paid by check made out to our Treasurer 'Mark English', and sent to Mark at Ameriprise Financial, 800 Westchester Avenue, Suite S-508, Rye Brook, NY 10573. Please note - Mark is working with Eric Baumes to try and get Paypal on the new web site for dues payment. How cool would that be! With Board approval, a Cruising Fleet web site at http://cruisingfleetnbc.com is now available for those who pay their 2018 Fleet dues. The purpose of the web site is two-fold 1) to have timely up-to-date information for the Cruising Fleet all in one place at one time (upcoming meetings, spur-of-the-moment cruises, racing results, etc.), and 2) archival information such as past racing results, NBC travelogues, and contact information. Like the NBC web site, your e-mail address and member number will be your login information. Only dues paying Fleet members will be able to access the site.
