Hi Bill:

I have no experience with Flo Scan and diesel installations but I am sure
that they can be made to work there because that has to be most of their
market.  Why don't you call them?  They also have a website.  They work
perfectly with our big old gasoline engines but the we have no return line
issues.

Subject: Worthless (?) Flo-Scan

Spent a pile having a yard put one on my Detroit Diesel 453 (42' trawler).
After they got it in they discoverd it had to be calibrated.  Yard couldn't
do it, neither can I.  All I get are garbage readings.  Any idea where I
could get it calibrated?  It's complicated because with a 2 cycle Detroit
80%
of the fuel going to the engine goes back into  the tank after having been
used for cooling.  So they have to meter it both coming and going & make the

calculation.  Plenty of room for innacuracies.  do these things really work?

Hi Bill:

If memory serves me correctly. the simple method to calibrate Flo-Scan is to
top your tanks off, go for a ride, return and re-top the tanks. Then make
the adjustments.
Just a question, but why did you use a installer who had no experience with
the Flo-scan unit????
Flo_scan is a very good company most of there business is with aircraft fuel
flow monitors.
