There are two marinas where you can live aboard, but the waiting time is long. If you are a visiting cruiser, you can live aboard for your= tay at each harbor. My opinion is that the State is very boater unfriend= ly (and I put up with them for 15 years), but that the many yacht clubs are very boater friendly. If you want to take up permanent residence, you had= better get on the waiting list immediately. Read the Mehaffey's Cruising Guide to Hawaii for details. Try Amazon.com. As for sailing conditions, they are the best anywhere, because they are not state-controlled <g>.
