THRUSH, 1 WINTER WREN.
From Patrick Comins:
09/23/14 - Southbury, Mitchell Farm (where the Mew/Common Gull was
this winter) -- Promising weedy habitat. Today's highlight was a
flock of 20 or so Bobolink along with expected sparrows. (I can't
wait until the Dickcissel, Blue Grosbeak, Clay-colored or Lark Sparrow
shows up!)
From Fran and Tom Holloway:

AM; Swainson's Thrush.
From Frank Mantlik:
09/23/14 - Woodbridge, Woodbridge Community Gardens -- quite birdy
this morn, but I could not relocate Russ's Blue Grosbeak of last
night. I did have 39 species including LINCOLN'S SPARROW, TENNESSEE
WARBLER.
From Shaun Martin and Stefan Martin:
09/23/14 - Greenwich, Greenwich Point -- a very good morning flight
with 130+ Warblers of 13 species. Swainson's Thrush was noted. We
also had a handful of Purple Finch flyovers along with a single
Red-breasted Nuthatch. Later, a Yellow-crowded Night-Heron.
From Bill Banks:
09/23/14 - New Haven, Lighthouse Point Park, hawk watch -- one adult
Golden Eagle (after discussion!). Also 100 Bobolinks, 3 DICKCISSELs,
2 Purple Finch.
From Tina Green:
09/23/14 - Westport- CT Audubon Tree Farm (with Gina Nichol) --
Yellow-breasted Chat seen by Gina, probable Connecticut Warbler seen
by both of us briefly. Both birds were seen in the northeast area in
the low dense brushy areas.Lots of warblers as well.
Sherwood Island State Park -- Connecticut Warbler seen near handicap
parking sign and large boulder just north of the baseball field. First
seen low in the dense dark green bushy tree and then walking on the
ground moving right and then in the low brushy area in front of large
deciduous tree. It seemed to be moving right with all the other
warblers in that area.
From Chuck Imbergamo:
09/23/14 - Madison, yard -- around 7 AM; TENNESSEE WARBLER.
From Nick Bonomo:
09/23/14 - Groton, Bluff Point -- a modest flight this morning,
totaling ~400 individual warblers of 13+ species. One flyby PINE
SISKIN.
Madison, Hammonasset Beach State Park -- A quick drive through at
midday had two juvenile AMERICAN GOLDEN-PLOVERS feeding on the lawns
across the road from Swan Pond.
From Michaelene Komara:
09/23/14 - Madison, Hammonasset Beach State Park -- 4:30 PM; Golden
Plovers continue.
From Russ Smiley:
09/22/14 - Woodbridge, Woodbridge Community Gardens -- 6:00 PM: A
female BLUE GROSBEAK was in the second to last garden plot on the left
at the west end just before sunset. It landed on the fence top where I
got photos and then it dove to the grasses inside. I heard it chipping
for 20 minutes and could see the grass moving, but it did not return
to view before I left.
