Installing Corian or Like Ilk

We had acquaintances who were remodeling their house and had a large
kitchen with Corian countertops they were replacing with granite.
The Corian is a very pleasant "sand" pattern.  They gave us all the
Corian.  It was easy to remove as it was only set down with little
dabs of some sort of silicone and came up easily with no breakage.
So maybe with a search of Craigslist or a construction recycler you
might find some lightly used Corian or other solid surface.

We were able to do our whole galley and bar top.  My husband is a
shipwright so has all the tools.  To do the rounded edges he used
carbide bits in his router.  It came out gorgeous.  And I got a new
stove with a wonderful oven as part of the remodel of our galley.

You can see the galley with the new countertop and stove on our
website:  www.woodrummarine.com  Click on Interiors.
