Mark,
"Sadly, the time has come for me to sell Winnie the Pooh, my 46' custom
Trawler-that-was-a-sailboat."

.........
Nothing can be said of comfort for your changing way of life, but I did find it much easier during the hurricane season.

Any suggestions for how to sell a boat in this rather

isolated place between two coasts?
You are between the best two boating areas in this country, isolated you are not, the drive will slow down the tire kickers and will not bother truely interested parties.

what other websites should I be advertising in?
It is a world wide market.
I had a great broker in Punta Gorda, Ed Benson he advertised it in Yachtworld and sent a number of lookers, even brought a buyer up one time but the sale couldn't be completed as on inspection of the bottom we found blisters and by the time they were repaired the buyer had vanished.

When I decided to lower the price and move on I used CL.
Craigslist is noted for scammers, but are a pia and easy to spot, if they answer without reading the ad, don't give a name or location when writing, don't have a landline phone, are some of the things to be aware of.
To cover all of Florida I posted 5 ads in Florida CL sites  Ft. Meyers, Tampa, Miami, Jacksonville and Pensacola and sold it to a guy working in Afganistan. Turned out he had a house in Port Charlotte with wife and kid and commuted between the war zone and India working, and Florida for vacations. He was looking for a boat for his retirement. Set it up to do on his next U.S. visit.

He paid by Cashiers check at my bank, had my bank call his to verify check, used the banks notary for the bill of sale and proof of sale.

Some would say a I gave the boat away, but when you make the decision to sell, as you said it is a dock ornament and needs care and money to sit.  I still miss it a year later but now we can travel without the worry of a boat in the water.
Good Luck and be careful,
Dave
