Microsemi released their notice on the SyncServers in 2022.

Useful as background.

One Florida eBay seller is upgrading units with a uBlox receiver.

This audiophile / broadcast reseller was unaware of WNRO, a decade ago.

As many folks on this list are probably aware, the GPS week number
rollover (WNRO) periodically causes older GPS receivers to misbehave.
One solution is to replace the problematic GPS module with a newer
one.
But many of these older modules will still work, they just need a bit
of
help, in the form of providing a hint about the current year.

Using the same trick as Alex’s solution (giving a time hint), I also got my SyncServer S200 with Furuno GT-8031 working again with interposer hardware and firmware.

The total cost is around $30 as well, but requires some experience with soldering 0603 resistors and connectors with a 1.27mm pitch.

But it works great and it’s much cheaper than those $200 ublox replacements.

I suspect it might be possible to modify the firmware update packages
for the S200/S250/S300/S350 to install the patched HCS12 firmware as
part of the update process, without the need for a USBDM cable.  I can
take a crack at this if anyone has the latest firmware update packages
for these units, or knows where to find them (I updated my unit via CF
card images that were posted by someone on the EEV blog.  So it seems to
work to update the main system firmware, but it doesn't kick off reflash
of the HCS12).
