multiple occupancies within university owned property

All,

Posing some questions to the group.

Do your fire marshal classify different business/tenants/entities within a university owned building as different occupancies under the relevant fire code? Meaning, that each occupancy is considered its own inspection and charged a separate inspection fee? For example, is a privately run café or food establishment within the university owned law school treated as its own occupancy under the fire code?

How about small rented work spaces? Such as WeWork or Spaces Work? Does each tenant get inspected separately? Or is the entire square footage treated as own occupancy, even if individual tenants operate different types of businesses?

Thoughts? Would appreciate any.
