Editor's Note: Due to the birthday festivities, our Tuesday, Wednesday,
and Thursday night workouts are modified from our original schedule; see
details below.
Happy Birthday, Gators! This Wednesday, May 1 marks our club's 10th
birthday! We're planning a few festivities throughout the year and the
first two take place on Wednesday. This will include a bike ride from the
Pawlings Trailhead (NOT the dog park) to the Conshohocken Brewery that is
located adjacent to the SRT for a brief Happy Birthday toast; the roundtrip
is about 23 miles and it will be at a leisurely pace (15-16mph). Then we're
offering a meetup at the TBD Bar (Tenth BirthDay Bar?) in Phoenixville for
some food, beverages, and reminiscing about the first 10 years (and the
next 10). Hopefully you can join us for one or both and note that the TBD
gathering will work for our cyclists, our Mid-Atlantic Multisport OWS
swimmers, and anyone else that would like to participate even if you do not
have a workout planned that night. If you can make it to the ride or to the
TBD Bar, please indicate "Going" (for planning purposes) on the following
events...
May HBD Top 10 Challenge: Another 10th birthday activity that we're rolling
out, partially due to the popularity of our March Madness and April's Full
Challenges is a May HBD Top 10 Challenge where you will have 10 activities
to complete throughout the month. Watch for a separate post coming on this
either Monday or Tuesday.
Speaking of the April's Full Challenge we have reached the final two days
and 11 athletes have completed the challenge and we have a few more that
may still make it to the finish line! Watch for a recap coming later this
week.
The Ice Cream Club is back! To earn "membership" in the club you will need
to complete at least 3 intervals at one of our Tuesday night cycling
intervals workouts taking place May through July and then all "club
members" will be invited to an ice cream party in August. While most
opportunities to participate will be on Tuesday evenings, we'll have a kickoff
event this Thursday, May 2 as there will be an option to complete intervals
or an out and back ride.
