Dear Cincom Smalltalkers, Smalltalkers;
Last year at ESUG I noted that Smalltalk was not represented as a language on the Stack Overflow developer survey.
Smalltalk is a powerful language that is still unsurpassed in many ways.
A new generation of developers may have never heard of it!
I made it an action item to notify Smalltalk developers, customers and community, when the survey was open, so we could
collectively address this oversight.
The Stack Overflow developer survey is now open!
Question #9 & #10 on the second page asks about what language you use or want to use.
I filled in "Smalltalk". Later on it asks which environment you work in.
https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/so-2016
NOTE: Please fill-out as soon as possible as the survey will only be open for a short time and could close imminently.

Dear Folks;
What appears to have happened is that the survey closes when they have enough responses, and not at a specific date. I looked for a closing date, but no luck. I had checked a week earlier and it was not open. At least it may have closed due to some Smalltalkers participating in the survey.

Hi Karsten, et al;
Thank you for the link; Listed is better than not listed! :-)
I don't expect Smalltalk to compete with the mass languages, but being listed versus non-existant before, lets people know some find great value in Smalltalk.
This was actually my goal, just seeing "Smalltalk" mentioned, since it was nowhere on last years survey results.
I believe the mention is a positive change for Smalltalk visibility.
The survey closed very quickly after we got the word out, so next year we will try for more participation.
Thank you again for everyone's attention and participation.
