Instead of hauling the boat, find a transducer that can be installed
inside
the hull..if in fact the transducer is bad.  If it is the head or display,
replace only that.  Would save a lot of time and money to go either way.

If you install one like this, you can accomplish two things: (1) You don't
have to slow down your trip in order to have a haulout just at this moment
or operate without depth info and, (2) When you do get a new transducer
installed, you'll then have a backup depth sounder.
