9/5 downtown Milford today around 6PM. We have been into downtown Milford
several times this past week. Near City hall by the pond/waterfall there,
there has been 1 DC Cormorant hanging out with a flock of 12-20 Canada
Geese. We have seen it several times now. This evening it was sitting on
the waterfall edge tucked in with 12 Canada Geese. After the goose flock
flew off, the Cormorant remained in the pond. Just an observation, but is
this unusual?

Regarding Canada Geese:
We visited Milford the week of August 24th, and noted a small flock of about the same number of Canada Geese on the lawn at the hotel each day. I went to Short Beach the next day in Stratford and for the first time ever, saw Canada Geese at the beach. They sat together on the shore, and seemed fine sharing the space with the gulls. I watched them sit on shore and go down to the water.
First time for me seeing Canada Geese at the beach, but I don’t live at the shore. Curious also, to hear from those who live at the shore if this is common.
