Has anyone had a hardtop built for their sundeck trawler flybridge? Pros and
Cons? Also any references for reliable builders in Maryland (Annapolis and
surrounding areas.) Bob Siegel ; Annapolis
Bob:
After a long and exhaustive search I wound up with Charles Coulter at C
and C Marine Towers in Cape May, NJ. He has a website at:
http://www.ccmarinetowers.com/
He uses a conventional TIG welded aluminum tower with a thin fiberglass
top. I was very concerned about adding additional weight and settled on
this type of construction. They charged around $5500 installed plus an
extra $500 for them to come to Kent Island and install the hardtop at my
marina.
There are not many hardtop people on the Chesapeake. Most boats have
Bimini tops, South Jersey is full of Sport Fishermen boats with hardtops.
