I am very excited to announce the launch of The Kareem Kandi World Orchestra, a brand new project that I've undertaken. The Kareem Kandi World Orchestra is a 501c3 nonprofit organization dedicated to providing high quality performances and music education to communities around the globe. Through the use of concerts, workshops, composing, recording, and cultural exchanges our focus is to bring people together through the broad scope of music and the jazz art form. Our first concert will take place at The Swiss Restaurant & Pub in Tacoma WA on Sunday July 30th at 4pm and will feature music from several talented musicians from The Pacific Northwest. Going forward we will be presenting concerts and educational workshops on a monthly basis. ( Most of which will be free and open to the public ) Our first international exchange will commence in 2019 when we will be traveling to Japan in March to teach and perform. Afterwards, in August 2019 we will be hosting musicians from Japan to join us here in Tacoma for a series of performances and workshops.
