From Frank Mantlik, with the Spectors:
12/14/13 - Milford, Beach Ave, Merwin Point -- female HARLEQUIN DUCK
now sitting on rocks near US Flag.

From Steve Mayo:
12/14/13 - East Haven -- I relocated the male Barrow's Goldeneye today
at 7:20 AM and Steve Broker had it at 2 PM.  It was seen among 160
Common Goldeneyes at the same location (off East Haven's South End
Point at the end of Brazos Road).

From Chris Loscalzo:
12/14/13 - New Haven, New Haven CBC -- CACKLING GOOSE (in Quinnipiac
River in New Haven), drake EURASIAN WIGEON (off Indian Neck in
Branford), HARLEQUIN DUCK (Merwin Point, Milford), BARROW'S GOLDENEYE
(in East Haven), KING RAIL (in Tabor Marsh in Branford), adult ICELAND
GULL (in Quinnipiac Marsh in Hamden), SNOWY OWL (at Long Wharf in New
Haven Harbor), RED-HEADED WOODPECKER (continuing bird in New Haven),
MARSH WREN (in Branford), VESPER SPARROW (in North Haven),
WHITE-CROWNED SPARROW, and a large flock of RUSTY BLACKBIRDS (in
Edgewood Park in New Haven).  Notable misses included: Pied-billed
Grebe, both vultures, Merlin, Black-bellied Plover, Red-breasted
Nuthatch, and Snow Bunting.

From Russ Smiley:
12/14/13 - Stonington, Stonington Point -- 9:00 AM; two Red-necked
Grebes.

From Ken Elkins & Lori Mott:
12/14/13 - Southbury, River Road, Mitchell Farm -- 500+ large gulls
with at least 1 Iceland Gull and 1 Glaucous Gull. Also a flock of 250+
sparrow of 8 species including 1 Vesper Sparrow.

From Keith Mueller:
12/14/13 - Madison, Circle Beach -- 2 adult Iceland Gulls ("FC")
continues and an additional large adult possibly one of the other
Gulls from last year... it seemed to recognize me and appeared
familiar with my routine.  Also Purple Sandpipers.
Just a Reminder Remember Circle Beach is a Private Beach, Please
Do Not walk up onto the beach unless I am there; you can join me.
Otherwise, view the Gulls from the road. The owners have been very
generous in allowing me private access to the beach, I would hate to
have that compromised.

From Paul Carrier:
12/14/13 - Harwinton yard -- Early snow brought 3 Purple Finch to
feeder.  Wonder what the 10.5" we are expected to get here might bring
tomarrow?

From Ray Belding via Dave Tripp:
12/14/13 - New Milford -- Ray Belding found an adult male
YELLOW-HEADED BLACKBIRD mixed with Common Grackles at a feeder on the
corner of Hartwell Rd and Reservoir Rd during the Woodbury-Roxbury
CBC.  I re-found it in the corner of the cornfield behind the white
building. Look for the grackles and be patient.

From Robert Dixon:
12/14/13 - Sterling yard -- 27 species (414 total birds); FOX SPARROW
(2), YELLOW-BELLIED SAPSUCKER.

From Arthur Shippee and Mary Porterfield:
12/14/13 - Hamden, North Lake -- Rusty Blackbird (F); Yellow-bellied
Sapsucker (M).

From John Oshlick with Dan Barvir:
12/14/13 - New Haven, Long Wharf -- We flushed a Snowy Owl (spotted by
Dan) from the shore next to the main Long Wharf pier (at around 7:30
am). It briefly landed at the end of the Long Wharf pier before flying
further into the harbor.
East Shore Park -- Amercian Woodcock.
