Note: A minimum of 5 Brown Pelicans have been seen on the south shore
of Long Island this past week.  Past such events have been known to
include some visiting Connecticut too, so this is an excellent time to
keep your eyes out.  (For anything really, not just pelicans!)

From Gil Kleiner:
07/26/09 - Simsbury, Great Pond -- had spectular looks of Mississippi
Kite in flight for almost ten minutes with and without our bino's,
5:55 PM Sunday.

From Maria Stockmal:
07/26/09 - West Haven, Sandy Pt -- one Whimbrel out in the mud flats,
two Western Willets in the same area, and one Peregrin Falcon out on
the furthest sandbar.

From John Oshlick:
07/26/09 - West Haven, Sandy Pt -- a single Marbled Godwit along with
the previously reported Whimbrel.  The birds flew away after a
Peregrine Falcon flew by and I do not know where they went

From James Restivo:
07/25/09 -Groton, Eastern Point Beach -- 1 WHIMBREL.
