Position Opening:
Marketing Assistant Manager
Position:
Marketing Assistant Manager
This position will provide support to the Associate Executive Director and Associate Director of Marketing to maintain and increase visibility of Broadway Center brand and products through clear and engaging communications, advertising, public relations, and promotions. The Marketing Assistant Manager will also support marketing campaigns with focus on public relations, social media, copy writing, project management, and community outreach, which includes managing festival participation. They are also responsible for merchandise management, inventory, and achieving annual sales goals.
Timeline:
Applications are due by 5:00 p.m. on Monday, October 17, 2016. Interviews will be conducted the week of November 7, 2016.
Compensation:
DOE. Full-Time, exempt position. 40 hours a week. Occasional weekend and evening hours required, based on events and performances.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
- Proficiency with Microsoft Suite
- Proficiency with standard social media platforms
- Demonstrated project management skills
- Excellent editing and writing skills
- Familiarity with Adobe Photoshop software preferred. Content management program experience a plus
Responsibilities:
Communications and Promotions

Social Media & Digital Communications
a. Support online marketing communication campaigns through social media/networking and other opportunities
b. Manage social media interactions and presence
c. Responsible for monitoring and reporting on social media metrics and achievements
d. Design and create Education e-news and calendar to ensure consistent and timely send dates

Public Relations
a. Act as Broadway Center media liaison regarding secured media, interview pitches, etc.
b. Create communication and press release calendar for season
c. Prepare and write press releases for publication and distribution
d. Manage and update Press section of website
e. Maintain and develop media contacts

Season Promotions
a. Prepare ad layouts as required for flyers, handouts, print ads, posters, postcards, etc.
b. Manage booth schedule, staffing, registration, promotions, and set up for various community events, including Tacoma's Farmers Market, Out in the Park, Art on the Ave, Proctor Arts Festival, MLK Celebration, and others.
c. Manage post-show handouts and distribution
d. Manage promotions distribution site list and deliver promo materials as required
4.Website
a. Oversee and maintain all online calendar submissions, also explore new online options for calendar listings
b. Assist with editing and updating Broadway Center website as needed
c. Provide input to maintain interactive and user friendly website
Marketing
- Support Associate Executive Director and Associate Director of Marketing in administrative duties related to department including planning campaigns, strategies and policies, campaign and communication schedules, producing marketing materials, and preparing for special events
- Assist in copywriting and editing various organization communications
- Maintain and organize marketing archives
- Responsible for Internship and Volunteer program as related to Marketing
- Manage collaborations with community partners for grassroots promotions
Sales and Customer Service

a. Create customer surveys and event reminders
b. Write all communication letters regarding event changes as necessary

Merchandise
a. Manage ordering, inventory, and sales points for merchandise
Budget and Financial
- Manage community outreach event promotions and supplies
- Manage merchandise, inventory, and sales reports
- Track and report on personal YTD revenue goals
Technical Support
- Know, use and assist in the operation, maintenance, and procedures of all technical programs required by Marketing Team:
a. AudienceView and future databases
b. Constant Contact and e-news editing programs
c. Joomla and future content management programs
d. Adobe Photoshop and other design programs
e. Microsoft Office
