Dear HBCU Library Alliance Members,
On behalf of Kimberly Springer, MSI, PhD, we are sharing an opportunity for BIPOC curators from HBCUs to participate in the project, "Curatorial Duties, Ethics, and Best Practices in Archives and Special Collections for the Next Century." This 18-month initiative, led by Columbia University Libraries with support from IMLS, focuses on creating inclusive conversation spaces around the evolving role of curators in U.S. archives and special collections, particularly highlighting the contributions of BIPOC professionals.
BIPOC curators are invited to the first online discussion, which will introduce the project and open a dialogue on ethical considerations and best practices for curating community and institutional archives.
