Boys-

The guys who own the commercial rights to the Rugby World Cup, Premium
Sports, are insisting we sign a contract which includes the following MANDATORY
cover charge language, I am guessing courtesy of a national chain which
you can  guess:

Entrance Fee:  Subscriber agrees to charge $20.00 per patron, per day
regardless of the  number of matches on any given day.  Business Subscriber
expressly agrees that it shall not offer or return to  any patron the equivalent
of the $20.00 cover charge that is charged to each  patron whether in the
form of free drinks and/or food, gift card, certificate,  voucher, or similar
coupon. Business Subscriber agrees that the $20.00 cover  charge is a
separate fee and shall not be connected to any aforementioned  credits or offers
in any way whatsoever so as to circumvent the intent of this  Agreement and
this mandated $20.00 cover charge. Business Subscriber further  agrees that a
breach of this provision shall be considered a material breach of  the
Agreement and shall allow Premium Sports, at its sole discretion, to  terminate
this Agreement, including the discontinuation of the Broadcasts being
licensed herein to Business Subscriber.

Anyway, I  think mandating I charge my customers is total crap, especially
after I shell  out $5000 to purchase these games.  Our plan is to opt out of
the original  showing of these PPV games.  I hope you will all express your
displeasure at this extortion to both Premium Sports
(charles@premiumsports.tv (mailto:charles@premiumsports.tv)  or  415-400-4869) and the only
chain in town if you are forced to watch  there.

This is a bad deal for the Denver rugby community and a terrible  way to
grow viewership of our sport.

Sorry we can't show this for free as originally planned. We will still have
the US games and Finals.
