Helm Supports

The plexiglas that covers my helm is held up by two supports.  They are held
togeter in the stiff or supporting position, because springs tension a piece
of string that attaches the two separate pieces.  To colapse the cover, you
pull them apart and it folds in half.

The spring broke.  I'm not sure what they are called, nor do I know of the
manufacturer.  I'd like to get two replacements, just don't know where to turn.

Any ideas?

John:

Measure the spring the best you can and then go to
http://www.mcmaster.com/ and enter a search for springs.

This will take a while because they have lots of springs.

You might want to try an ordinary hardware store where
they have those cardboard boxes with things like springs
first but McMaster-Carr will have something close.
