I'm putting together a comprehensive WIOA reauthorization recommendations
letter for WEI and will share as soon as I can. From the Gates Foundation
work we've done this year, I have about a dozen suggestions - some
WIOA-wide (e.g., a separate title for cost-allocation, a reframing of the
deficit based 'individuals with barriers' language) and some specific to
title II.

I agree, Regina. Echoing some of what is listed in Senator Reedâs letter
for both WIOA investment and AE needs in RAWA would make sense. It also
seems like a good idea to reiterate needs related to distance education and
digital literacy as was done in the NRS comments. The request for comment
seems pretty open for types of suggestions. For those involved in
reauthorization in 2014, any guidance on the type of suggestions they are
asking for?

So quick! The monthly naesde call would be a good place to get ideas but
itâs after the deadline. Maybe we can start with the Biden letter and the
asks in that?
It would be great to hear from the field more.....

We expected that the House was contemplating WIOA reauthorization hearings
this spring, but we didn't know the Senate was also going to be moving so
soon.
Deadline for submitting comments is April 9, so we need to get on this!
