Milford & Stratford birds 10/28

10/28 (in advance of Hurricane Sandy)
Milford, Milford Point , 1:45-2:15 - 88 Black-bellied Plovers, 194 Dunlin, 5
Sanderlings, 2 Ruddy Turnstones, 120 Am. Black Ducks.  Also Coast Guard rescue
helicopter and boat were searching for two lost kayakers, neither of which was
wearing a life-jacket!

Stratford, Park Blvd., Russian Beach, 2:30-3:30 seawatch - 2 Northern Gannets, 7
Red-throated Loons, 1 Common Loon, 5 White-winged Scoters, 18 Greater Scaup, 1
Laughing Gull.  The loons were flying west; the gannets and ducks were flying
east.
