Has anyone had experience with an anchor known as a WASI, ROCNA,or  Bugel.

they are apparently Swiss or German, used a lot in the Med.

Bob, have seen WASIs here, but not the others.

I think they are popular because [again, I think] they come from
Germany.

When I see them, I see mostly stainless steel.

I think they are used because they can get thru the grass when their
point is sharp, and from what I gather, they are easy to deploy and
retrieve.

However, I do not see them on off-shore cruisers, and I am told that
when anchoring over rocks, fisherman anchors are their first choice.

Off shore cruisers that have their boats built here seem to like what
look like to be navy type stockless anchors, and vice deploying off
the bow, deploy thru a hole in the bow, like large navy anchors do.

Seem to hold in all types of bottoms but they also appear to be big
and heavy, more than what would "normally" appear on a cruiser....
