Extralimital (but nearby!) Note: "a Black Guillemot has been seen in
Glen Cove, Long Island for about a week (from the NY listserv). It was
seen today. Keep your eyes open!" (Nearest part of CT is Greenwich,
but it might have cousins.)

Sparrow, Yellow- bellied Sapsucker.
From James Purcell:

From Russ Smiley:

noon.
From Jan Collins:

1 SNOW GOOSE, 2 NORTHERN PINTAIL males.
From Nick Bonomo:
12/26/13 - Stratford, Long Beach -- A long walk down the beach
resulting in a staked-out heavily-marked SNOWY OWL on the last jetty
that provided nice scope views. Other birders reported a second owl at
the tip of the same long jetty. Also seen were that large second-cycle
ICELAND GULL, and a flock of SNOW BUNTINGS.
Stratford, in front of Marnick's Restaurant, by the seawall -- adult
ICELAND GULL on the beach.
Wallingford, Rte 5, Stop & Shop Plaza -- first-winter ICELAND GULL
continues. If you look for the bird and it's not there, check a bit
further south down Route 5 at Shop Rite and Walmart. The gulls commute
up and down the busy road.
From Frank Mantlik:
12/26/13 - Stratford, Short Beach -- SNOWY OWL (on offshore
breakwater. I let 3 women with NJ plates view it through scope),
ROUGH-LEGGED HAWK (light morph hunting old landfill).
Stratford Point -- RAZORBILL flying by offshore, 3 White-winged
Scoters.
Birdseye Boat ramp -- 1st-cycle ICELAND GULL.
Long Beach -- large 2nd-cycle ICELAND GULL. I agree with Julian's
assessment as to species, based on dark outer webs to outer primaries,
long primary projection, etc.
Lordship Seawall -- Adult ICELAND GULL. Beautiful bird near Marnick's
Restaurant; I suspect it's the same individual that has been returning
to the area for seven (?) years now.
From Hank Golet:
12/26/13 - Old Lyme, Great Island, from Smith Neck launching area --
SNOWY OWL on the beach, southwestwest side of Great Island. I checked
at 7:15 AM and again at 4:00 PM and bird had only moved about 10 feet.
Scope is needed.
From Glenn Williams:
12/26/13 - Waterford, Harkness Memorial State Park - female COMMON
EIDER, 2 SNOW BUNTINGS; no sign of the female King Eider which has not
been reported in a while.
From Dan Rottino:
12/26/13 - Madison, Hammonasset Beach SP -- 3 FOX SPARROWS in
campground, 1 PEREGRINE FALCON off Cedar Island platform. 1 LAPLAND
LONGSPUR and 3 SNOW BUNTING smack dab in the middle of the nature
center parking lot (with many more Horned Larks).
From Paul Carrier:
12/26/13 - Harwinton yard -- Had a lone Pine Siskin (in with the 4
