Hello all,
While walking along the waterfront trail in Saddington Park, Port Credit we were very excited to have spotted a Northern Shrike with it's most recent catch still wriggling in it's bill (a tiny field mouse!). We had the spotting scope on it for over 5 minutes and were thrilled to add it to our life list!
Directions: Follow Mississauga Rd all the way south and pass Lakeshore. Mississauga Rd ends at Saddingtton Park (about 1 kilometer south of Lakeshore Rd.). From the parking lot walk towards the water and head to the right on the waterfront trail (ie. head west on the trail). The Northern Shrike was spotted at the top of the first hill on the right hand side. It was seen about 100 meters off the fence line in the field.
Happy Birding!

While trying to catch sight of a raptor cruising back and forth across our backyard this morning we noticed 4 White-winged Crossbills. 1 Female and 3 juveniles. This is the 3rd time in nearly fifteen years they have stopped at our spruce trees. They are gone now.
We live on Herriott St near Bridge St in CP and they may well be in some of the local conifers.
