Refrigerator Freezers

'Lo All,

In my various travels, I have stayed in places that have micro-fridges that
have a removable microwave on top. These are made primarily for the
motel-type trade and college dorm rooms. They are made to plug into a 110 V
AC outlet. One size (MH-3, if I remember correctly) is just slightly taller
(about an inch, if I recall correctly) than the Norcold refrigerator
freezer we have in the Celestial and the same width. They have a unique
circuit which cuts off the refrigeration compressor when the microwave is
running, so that it does not draw more power than a single 15 A outlet can
safely handle. These are frost-free, so do require more power than
non-frost-free units. Still, the specs look quite good compared to Norcold.

These units are very reliable as reported to me by the managers of several
motels I have stayed at. They are available new from several places such as
BeverageFactory.com, which has a complete line of these units and full
descriptions.

My question is: has anyone ever tried one of these on board?

Since there is one model that could be easily made to fit into the space
where the Norcold is on the Celestial, I was thinking that if the Norcold
ever died. I would look into them.

No connection, just curious.

'Lo All, ummm, again....

Seems Inspiron is no longer part of the Microfridge name. They have a new
website: http://www.microfridge.com/

Again, no connection.

Take care and be safe.
