Calling all Quins:I have attached the email request from Jason and Ron from the Wheelchair rugby team looking for volunteers to help out during their practices. I will likely be able to make a few sessions on wed to help out.  But this is a great way to get to know these amazing people and fellow Harlequins!!
Thanks,Tom Vyles-

Dear Volunteers,

The Denver Harlequins Wheelchair Rugby Team is looking for volunteers to help out at their practices.  The duties you would be assisting with are helping players get their equipment (sports chairs and wheel bags) to and from the gym. Some players need help with getting in and out of their rugby chairs and getting taped up. No experience needed; we can train you on the fly! If you'd like to stay at practices we may need help picking players up after tipping, changing flat tires (this you will learn from current volunteers if you'd like) and assisting with water breaks. This is a great opportunity to learn the sport of Wheel Chair Rugby and feel a part of a team!

We Practice every Wednesday and Sunday from 5:30pm-8pm at the Craig Gym. Players usually show up at 4:30pm and need a hand getting their equipment into the hospital.  Practices will start around mid-September and go until mid-April.  We are open to anyone willing to help out either or both of these days during the season.

It's not all work and no play! We can use volunteers as extra players. You can have the chance to get in a chair and join in on scrimmages with us.  There is also a possibility to travel with the team (travel expenses paid by the team). After you've helped out and learned the equipment repair we can discuss this further. Whether you would like to help out a little or a lot we would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks to all,

I went out on Sunday, 10/14.  They had about 14 guys. There are some really committed men with great athletic ability.  I was impressed by the way they hit.  I will be going back on Wednesday and hope to learn how I can be more involved.  All I did was chase balls.
