Bimini Colors

Jane and I are discussing Bimini Colors.  It seems like the answer to this
should be obvious but let's ask it anyway.  Given identical circumstances
and using a vinyl laminated polyester material with a gloss finish exterior
side and white interior side and an 8-year warranty, how much hotter is it
going to feel under a black top as opposed to a white top.  Again, the
underside is white on both the black and the white.

A lot more under the black top.  I remember a friend who had a black
colored Bimini and he had to keep wetting it down to reduce the heat
transference.  White on top to reflect the heat away and black on the
underside to absorb some of the energy may work.

It will be brutal especially in the south. The black will heat up and
radiate heat thru the bottom even with a white underneath.  Nice in the cold
but insufferable in the summer. Plus the black will show every speck of dirt
etc.

For comfort under the Bimini, white, white is the way to go.  Even our light
turquoise bimini radiates heat.

Mine is blue and I wish I had gone with white.  You put your hand on the
underside  and it is hot.

I have a blue bimini and it get's very hot...I often wish it was white!
I've thought about putting a white top over it when it's hot and sunny out.

....but, I'm very happy to have that blue top on the colder days!~!

..now, about it showing more dirt?  I think a white top would show more dirt
than a dark top, right?  And inside too, less dirt showing from
condensation, etc.
