I just had the condition and valuation survey done on my year and a half  long
26' trawler project for the purposes of insurance and piece of mind.  In the
words of the surveyor the boat is in excellent condition  throughout with top
notch work.  The only recommendations were a cover on the back of the battery
switch and an automatic fire suppression system in the engine compartment and
bearing buddies on the trailer.

Final value for a 1969  26' trawler is $35k.  I have around $20k into the
project and 1000 hours so my wages are around $15 per hour. I can see where a
lot of people lose money on their projects with picking the wrong project or
shoddy workmanship.  I can make up around $60 per hour  working on residential
projects at 1/3 the brain power.  I have exactly the boat I want  but I am
glad that I didn't want a fifty footer.

Time to do the final prep before launch.
