Okay can we also establish what is common or uncommon
to report to a LIVE person on the phone-computer?
Rare and uncommon are birds that no-one ever sees
in the state. That is easy to decide on. If you have
been birding for five years or more, then you might
know what has never been seen in the state.
Uncommon that year is harder to quantify. I just
saw a Canvasback in Wallingford this weekend, and I
have not seen one in five years. But, that is only
because I do not bird every weekend. Should I call a
LIVE person near a phone-computer to report that?
Hi Kevin,
I think for phoning in we should, like in the CTDailyReport, use the
provided list of Common Birds: http://ctbirding.org/commonbirds.htm

This list is provided by the Connecticut Ornithological Association (COA)
for the discussion of birds and birding in Connecticut.
