Oil Changes Made Easy

I read with interest the comments from the guys "shot-gunning" with a screw driver the oil filter to break the vacumn so the oil drains to the pan.

I have done numerous upgrades onboard ALLEZ ! our 50 MT Wide Body with twin 2704ET Turbo Lehmans 150 H.P. The oil upgrade consisted of removing the heavy horizontal cannister that contained the oil filter off the engine and throwing it away. It was also blocking removal of the impeller for the raw water pumps.

As Brian Smith said at American Diesel the only reason the filter cannister is mounted on the engine was for shipping purposes. They can be remote mounted but who wants them bolted to the rear motor mount upside down.

American Diesel has an adapter kit that mounts to side of the engine in place of the oil cannister bracket, plus new hoses of varying lengths and an adapter to put "spin on" filters on.

ALLEZ! now has Remotely mounted, Vertical Position, Spin on Oil filters. The mounted bracket furnished by me is mounted to the engine bed stringers.

I also installed  Spin-On Secondary 2 Micron fuel filters. Primary fuel filters are dual
Racor units so I can change fuel filters on the run. Digital pictures available on reques

Also I purchased from American Diesel a replacement oil pan plug that is 90 Deg with a new 23" oil line attached to it that lets me pump oil directly out of the crank case (Oil Pan) No Dip Stick Pumping out oil for me. Oil changes are a breeze!
