Windsor Locks Canal State Park:
Beautiful foliage, many Mallards congregate daily on the canal, including Wood ducks, Double breasted Cormorant, and always one or two Heron.
Hundreds of Canada Geese along the Connecticut River yesterday, saw two large Swans near some geese, couldn’t make out any others as most of river still obscured with foliage while walking the trail.
Someone mentioned Catbirds; many here through summer, last one we saw/heard was about a week ago.
Active:
American crows
Fish crows
Blue Jay
Black Capped Chickadee
Pretty sure we saw/heard a Belted Kingfisher
Resident flock of pigeons that live on the adjacent old mill/apartment building
Peregrine falcon -very vocal and displaying acrobatic moves near a Bald Eagle along the river
Love the fall. But do miss all the birds.
