As of 12:50PM one Eurasian Collared-Dove was visible in the farthest right
of the pines by the entrance to the airport in Stratford. If you look at the
top and then down into the first gap between branches you will see it
sitting there. Perhaps the other is sitting on a partially-built nest in a
hard to see part of the tree? Only a guess based on the earlier observations
of gathering material.

Frank Mantlik posted about seeing two Purple Martins at Stratford Point on
Monday. There were actually 2 pairs present all that day inspecting the
gourds. We had not seen any here for a while until that day. As of today
there are still 2 pairs here, and for the first time I saw one of the pairs
bringing nesting material into a gourd. These would be the first nest in the
new gourds we installed last summer. Don't forget to check out our friend
Gazebo Phil's website to watch many Connecticut Purple Martins live
http://gazebophil.com/

The gourd with the camera inside shows you that pair already has 6 eggs. So
while it is obviously late for the Stratford Point birds to only be starting
to build their nest, we very well could have breeding birds this season.
