I had a similar problem with my Detroits. It turned out to be a plugged
after cooler for the turbo. I'm not familiar with your engine so I don"t know if
you have an after cooler or not.

Anybody  please help,
I have twin 240 hp turbo Perkins (1986, 3,600hrs.).  For  the last few hundred
hours one of them will run too hot at rpms over  1,800-the higher the rpms the
hotter it runs.  I have checked and done  all I can think of:from the thru
hull
to the water cooled exhaust elbow all  seems to be clear & clean and I even
solution back flushed it.  The fresh water side has been solution circulated
&
new anti-freeze  water.  All this resulted in just a very little improvement.
Could  this be an engine mechanical problem or ? just causing too much heat
for
the capability of the cooling system?
Any  ideas???
