Group,
My municipal airport has an airplane that has been left in a hangar since 2016. The tenant still maintains that he is going to get the plane but has mostly scrapped it since 2016 when he quit paying hangar rent. He has been as recently as this year to "visit" the plane and always has a new excuse. The plane is no longer registered with an owner. My question is, can we evict the tenant and dispose of the plane according to landlord tenant law? Any advice is appreciated.

Misty:
The City of Bristow has an airport and I really had to do some significant research on these types of issues. I would first direct you to the lease. I would guess that there is a provision that addresses that the plane must be airworthy. It may also provide a procedure for evicting them.
Nonetheless, this is a highly specialized area with lots of federal regulations. I am copying Jami Blocker, an attorney with the City of Oklahoma City, who represents the Airport Trust. She is an invaluable resource to those of us in smaller municipalities and is also an amazing person!
