What has Abby got to do with boating? I read her column for ever. iShe passed away a long time ago. Pink and Blue?
We call it "Deck" and "Engineering" My wife is a USCG 100 Ton Licensed Master (with TWIC Card) for
Sail, Power and Commercial Assistance Towing. We both worked for Tow Boat U. S. for a while until we started full time Cruising.
She does all the driving, (in excess of 15,000 miles) docking, navigation and cruise planning and a gourmet chef. We eat well.
I am Chief Engr and keep it all running plus, I handle dock lines, fenders, and anchoring duties and all systems, Engines, oil changes, fuel, air conditioning
sanitation etc. This split of duties is working fine for us since 2004 when we went full time. Our boat cards have her shown as Captain and me as Chief Eng.
P.S. I don't know of any U.S.C.G. licensed Admirals (smile)
Safe Cruising
