I am glad to hear that Seven Seas Cruising Association is making a real effort to include Trawler owners.  I was a member for over 30 years, and a Commodore for over 15 years.  In 1998 I was on the Board of directors and put forth an amendment to the bylaws to allow current commodore members to retain their Commodore status when moving to a power vessel.  The amendment was changed by the next board and was defeated.  The bulletins were of a great deal of help in trip planning before the internet.  Now the discussion boards are often of help in many ways.  Unfortunately the organization has a very large turnover--probably because it really is focused on long distance cruising--and few boaters really do long distance cruising, and because currently boaters seem to get in and out of boating more rapidly than they used to.  Still a very good source of information!
